the community regeneration process, in 2000 we moved in to the purpose built WHALE Arts Centre.

Hello and welcome to 2012! We are kicking the new year off with a bang here in WHALE Arts with lots of courses and activities for you to sink your teeth in to. If you see anything on the What's On page that you would like more info on please just get in touch. Make this your year to develop a skill or passion, or try something completely new!

Spaces available on our Access to Creative Arts Course!

Good news - there are still a few spaces available on our exciting Access to Creative Arts Course. This course is FREE to attend and is a great access route for people wanting to get back into or further their study.

This 18 week course is a great first step for anyone who wants to study media and the arts at college and need an access route. You’ll study multi-media, photography, radio, animation and more, and can gain up to 8 SQA modules. Classes are based at WHALE Arts and delivered by Stevenson College.

Classes start on Monday January 30th - if you are interested please just get in touch by email or phone!

Totem Pole Project in Wester Hailes

You can get involved in an exciting new project based here in WHALE Arts - the design, carving and erecting of the first Wester Hailes memory pole! Using cutting edge technology, the 15 foot totem pole will store local people's memories of our community amongst other things. Lots of sessions to get involved with - check out the events page for details!

  South West Sounds Christmas Single

    Still a hit even though the season may have passed - have a listen to 'A WHALE of a Christmas', written,        
    performed and recorded at the WHALE Arts Centre by local musicians as part of our South West Sounds
    project.

RBS Community Force - WHALE Arts named as a winner!

A MASSIVE thanks to every single person who voted for WHALE Arts in the RBS Community Force back in October 2011 - we are so proud to say that you helped us win the £6000! A real testament to the community spirit and effort of everyone involved - your vote helped towards it all - thank you again!
