in partnership with Telford College, sessions give a first taste of
visual arts. A fully inclusive group suitable for people with
additional learning needs. You can join any time.

Let’s DANCE!

Social
dancing and teaching for ages 40+. Relaxed and fun social events with
expert dance tuition, refreshments and health advice. Salsa, ballroom
and more!

Reel Lives
7.00: 3 February, 3 March, 7 April
A
new film club meeting monthly showing drama and documentaries about
real life all over the world. Each film is followed by a discussion
about the issues raised. Free popcorn!

Chattering Chapters

A
Book Group for parents and their friends. Read a book together and come
to WHALE once a month to chat about it. Books, crèche and cups of tea
provided.
Computer Graphics for Print
7.00 to 9.00, from 4 February
Have
you ever needed to make a poster, flier, party invitation or event
programme? This ten week course will introduce you to the computer
programmes used for graphic design. Delivered by Napier University
Drama @ WHALE

Have
you ever wanted to try acting or are you looking to get back into
drama? These workshops will explore aspects of drama work for complete
beginners as well as those with some drama experience.

MUSIC MONDAYS
Edinburgh Youth Gaitherin’
4.00 to 6.00, from 1 February
The
EYG provide teaching in traditional Scots music for children and young
people in Edinburgh. Places are available for 24 young people from P5
to S3 who would like to play fiddle, whistle, guitar or sing
traditional music. Instruments will be provided and teaching will
continue throughout 2010.
££ £1 per session
DJing and Music Production
6.30 to 8.30, from 25 January
For
young people aged 13+. Weekly sessions in making music using decks,
downloading, remixing and sampling tunes. No experience is necessary
but participants must be committed as places are very limited.

Urban Crew
6.30 to 8.30, sessions to be confirmed
The
Urban Crew is a group of young people aged 10+ who sing, dance, act and
perform. We are inviting anyone who would like to join us to come
along. This term we will be working with a break dancer and hope to
perform at WHALE in December.

Street Arts continues with dancers, musicians and artists out on the streets working with young people every Thursday night. Westside Snappers
5.00 to 7.00, from 14 January
A new group for any young people aged 10 to 16 years with an interest in photography. Work with a professional photographer to make an exhibition of your own photographs and a book of your images.
